ON THREE

ON THREE was more than just an Apple /// user group. They also produced many software titles, and several pieces of hardware designed to enhance Apple’s first business computer. Long after Apple Computer, Inc. discontinued the /// line, ON THREE provided top-level support and services and eventually became one of the few places for users to get hardware and software, and to participate in an active community.

ON THREE’s monthly newsletter was slick and professional magazine that was published for several years, offering a wealth of information on the all things Apple ///.

My collection is far from complete and if you have any issues you’d be willing to lend me for scanning, I’d love to hear from you. I’m currently in need of the following:

Volume 1: Numbers 1 and 5

Volume 2: every issue except Number 2

Volume 3: Number 8

* Note: Owing to an apparent printing error, pages 3 through 6 and 23 through 26 were repeated and pages 5 through 8 and 27 through 30 were omitted from my copy of Number 3.

* Note: Number 5 is missing several pages and should not be considered archival. The pages torn from the issue appear to be mostly advertising, but I have no way to verify this.

Volume 4: Numbers 2, 3, 6 through 9, 11 and 12

Anything they might have published after Volume 4. Unfortunately, ON THREE didn’t sell back issues through the magazine and didn’t list Volume/Issue numbers published, so I don’t know how much I’m actually missing.

Volume 4, Number 10 is dated October 1987, long after the sun had set on the Apple /// in Cupertino, so I can’t imagine there were that many more issues published, but I can’t be sure. Anyone have specific information on this?

UPDATE: I was browsing through the contents of the recently re-classified WAP Apple /// DVD and stumbled across a folder containing scans of the covers of every issue of ON THREE published. There were a total of 53 issues over seven volumes published, with the final issue being Volume 8, Issue 1. So it seems I have a ways to go. Again, any loans or offers to sell me issue of ON THREE would be warmly welcomed.
